The Eclat de Verre was founded more than 30 years ago on the old market place of Versailles in the heart of the city of kings, by 3 brothers, Jacques, Robert and Didier Lemonnier.

The 3 brothers began in 1 shop (Versailles) as an arts and crafts supply store, but quickly expanded into French art framing. Our "framing academy" led by master framers was instrumental in encouraging and enhancing art framing as a popular, do-it-yourself hobby in France. All of our shops offer master framers who combine French 18th century techniques with modern style to create one-of-a-kind items.

In each L'Eclat de Verre a certified master framer constructs your photo, print, or object into a one of a kind masterpiece. The master framers must attend a "framing academy" for 4 years where they learn French 18th century techniques as well as modern ways to frame.

The company is now managed by Emmanuel Teillet and Didier Lemonnier.

Teillet encouraged the international development of L'Eclat de Verre. Expanding into Belgium and most recently Georgetown, Washington, DC. The company now has over 40 locations offering a unique way to display your art.
